I just read “Sally…” What a pleasure to read, and what a woman, what a life! I had known about the book for a few years, but what compelled me to buy it was the painting “Every woman’s secret fear.” No shit. I was a friend of Theodora and Tommy O’Toole when they lived in Deep Gap, NC, in the early 1970′s. She was kind, fabulous, fascinating, and she and Tommy took a lost 18-year-old away from home for the first time under their wing. I thank them forever for the kindness they showed me. Theodora herself would be quite a story, don’t you think?…

Carolyn, it was nice to see that someone has fond memories of Tommy and Theodora. i am Tommy o’toole’s niece and we used to visit them in their apartment. you may remember about 4 kids with their mom. we visited them every Spring at their farm in Boone Nc until they divorced in the late 70s. we all too have great memories of theo.

Best movie I have seen in a while is Avatar hands down. That movie was well done and extremely entertaining. For any of you that have yet to see it, go watch it while it’s in theaters. You will not be disappointed.

I know these were posted some time ago – but wanted to say “Where the Heart Waits” is a favorite of mine as well. We studied it in our women’s Bible Study (Zuzu’s Petals – dont’ you love that name?) and it was terrific!
